Market This Saturday!

Spahr Produce will be at the market this saturday with fresh produce. Although this saturday is our last official market day, Scotty will continue to come to the market throughout the winter. If you haven’t done so sign up to be on his email list for the winter months. Donna will be out with her bees wax candles, crochetted hats, and of course totes made from recycled bags. Michele with Salem Gardens will be out too. She’ll have some pansies and violas for last minute planters! You’ll find some nice holiday center pieces for your dining room table. Michele will have savoy cabbage too! PLEASE remember that starting April 7, 2012 we’ll be moving. Our new location is the corner of Academy Street and Kildaire Farm Road. On behalf of the Cary Downtown Farmers Market I would like to thank all our loyal customers. The past few years have been challenging, but I say without hesitation that we have the most loyal and friendly customers. I am looking forward to seeing everyone next year! Michele

EVENTS coming up….

December 3rd, Queen Beads and Salem Gardens will be participating in the Winter Festival in downtown Cary. Hours are 10-4.  Denise and Michele will have a heated tent, so don’t let the cold weather keep you away. Come do some shopping! Mastercard and Visa accepted!

December 4th. Michele with Salem Gardens will be holding a holiday open house. Several vendors from our market will be participating…Queen Beads, Mind Your Bees Wax, and our newest vendor Soy Candle Company. Other local craftors will also be on hand. We’ll have refreshments. Stop by between the hours of 11-7. Salem Gardens is also open during the week. Located at 1522 Salem Church Road, Apex. Call for hours. 337-8149.

December 10th, Donna(Mind Your Bees Wax) will be at the St. Thomas Moore craft show in Chapel Hill. This is a great event with lots of great craftors.

FRESH PRODUCE THIS SATURDAY

Spahrs Produce will be at the market this Saturday. Our last official market day is November 19th, but Scotty will be out every saturday throughout the winter with produce. If you’re not on his mailing list let him know. He’ll normally send out a weekly reminder.

OTHER EVENTS: Queen Beads and Salem Gardens will be at the Raleigh Farmers Market this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for their Annual Fall Crafts Fair. Donna will be selling her candles and bags at the St. Michaels Crafts Show. St. Michaels is located on High High Road, Cary. We’ll be back next saturday for the last market day.

MARKET OPEN…Shop for Gifts!

Who knows what the weather will be like, but the market will be open! Thanks for all your support last weekend. Spahrs Farms will have fresh peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and a variety of other vegetables grown locally. Don’t forget the eggs!  It’s time to plant pansies for longlasting fall, winter and spring color. Salem Gardens will have a selection plus some other winter hardy plants.  Donna will have her beeswax candles. These make great gifts, burn cleanly and last several  hours. Of course, she’ll have her “bags” made from recycled plastic! Get an early start on your Christmas shopping at Queen Beads.  Many of Denises beads are hand crafted. Stop by and check out her unique, one of a kind beads!   Our newest vendor is back. Kris owns Soy Fine Candle Company. Our official last market day is November 19th, but remember that Scotty will be out all winter at the Chatham Street location with produce. Sign up to be on his mailing list for details.

December 4th-Salem Gardens open house. 11:00-6:00. Located at 1522 Salem Church Road, Apex. Denise(Queen Beads) and Michele will host this event. You’ll find poinsettias and holiday arrangements made with fresh greenery. Queens Beads, along with several other local artist will offer lots of ideas and gifts for Christmas.

IMPORTANT REMINDER- The market will open April 7, 2011 at our new location. The proposed location is the corner of Kildaire and Academy Street.(place where Christmas trees were sold in past). Updates will be sent and you can check our website for information too.

Market this week…the same, but different?

Spahrs Farms will be at our usual location at Chatham Square this weekend with fresh vegetables provided by a very dedicated Scotty. The rest of the gang will be at the corner of Academy St. and  Park St. Queen Beads, Mind Your Bees Wax, Salem Gardens, Parker Farms (Pork) and Soy Fine Candle Company plan to set up here. Stop by and see us after you get your fresh produce. The Town has asked to partner with Heart of Cary core merchants for their Howlin’ Good Halloween. We will set up across from the library on Academy Street for parade spectators and Downtowners to visit. The market will be open at 8:00. Vist the Town of Cary’s website for information on more activities for the weekend.

We’ll all be back at our Chatham Street location next saturday, November 5th.

IMPORTANT DATES:   The Cary Downtown Farmers Market is pleased to announce that we will be moving next year from our present location at 744 E. Chatham Street to the downtown area.  The proposed site is on the corner of Kildaire Ave. and Academy Street. (old site for selling Christmas trees) Updated information will be posted to our website. Our market intially was held at the train station depot in downtown Cary, but due to renovations moved to our present location. We are very thankful that the town has found a permanent, new home for us. Thank you for your support.

Broccoli and other veggies this weekend…

It’s that time of year…cool, crisp morning and lots of sunshine! The Cary Downtown Farmers Market will be open with lots of variety to choose from and some much awaited cool weather crops.  Scotty of Spahrs Farms will have fresh peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, egg plants and a variety of other vegetables grown locally. Don’t forget the eggs!  Salem Gardens will have pansies and violas, decorative kales, red mustard and a variety of other plants. Salem Gardens will also have mixed lettuce, arugula and broccoli. Get an early start on your Christmas shopping at Queen Beads.  Many of Denises beads are hand crafted. Stop by and check out her unique, one of a kind beads!   Our newest vendor is back. Kris owns Soy Fine Candle Company.  She’ll have decorated halloween candy corn candles and offers free packing with the purchase of 2 or more. Another great gift idea. Donna (affectionally know as the “bag lady”) is back. She’ll have her beeswax candles and crochetted bags from recycled plastic bags.
