Mothers are Special at the Market

What better place than the Farmer’s Market to get all the fixing to make Mom the dinner she deserves!   We have Pork, Fish, Vegetables, Strawberries, and special desserts.

Not sure what to make? Chef Alyssa Campo will be here  with Mom inspired cooking demonstrations and free samples.Easy recipes will be given to every child to cook mom a special market inspired meal.  Speaking of recipes, the hit from last week, Strawberry Salsa is posted on the Recipe page.

Our special entertainment will be Never Home 4 – The Never Home 4 is a “seasoned” Barbershop Quartet with collectively over 170 years of membership in the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Strawberry Festival this Saturday

Another returning vendor is back this week – DJ’s Berry Patch — with Strawberries of course.     More information on our special entertainment guests:   Tom is a music teacher in Cary and has entertained audiences for over 25 years.  He sings favorites from the 70′s and 80′s Classic Rock as well as country and acoustic singer/songwriter music.  The Cary Elementary Select Choir is comprised of 4th and 5th grade students who love to sing.  They have performed at several local events over the past few years and are excited to sing for the Cary Downtown Farmer’s Market.

Get ready for the Cooking Challenge Contest May  25th.  More Details on the special events tab — entry form will be available on Monday May 6!

Strawberries are in!

We will have Strawberries this week at the market!    Also Broccoli, swiss chard, spinach, lettuce,cauliflower, and more!

We welcome Another new vendors this week — Barnes Farm !  Also Motley Crops is back ! Stop by and say hi.

Our entertainment this week will be  Paula Snyder (singer/keyboardist/guitar).  She has performed for the market several times and is definetly a favorite.   Stay awhile and enjoy while you also enjoy breakfast!

Earth Day April 20

Come celebrate Earth Day at the Farmer’s Market!

We have lots of activities planned -

  • Recycled Crafting station for kids both young and old
  • Speakers to talk about Environmental topics such as sustainable agriculture, GMO vs. Non-GMO, etc. with demonstrations and information
  • Musical Guest:  Irresolved (Pop, country, etc.)

Looking to make a fashion statement that also gives you benefits?  Stop by the Information booth and pick up a CDFM T-shirt for $20 and receive $5 in market bucks!  PLUS!!!  If we’ve sold 40+ t-shirts by June 15th we’ll have a “Wear your T-shirt day” and everyone who wears their t-shirt will be entered into a raffle to win an additional $10 in market bucks!!!  What a deal!!!

As our featured Community Service project we are still collecting eye glasses for the Lion’s Club for several weeks.  As you are Spring Cleaning, gather unused glasses and bring them down.  There were several pair in the box last week — THANK YOU!

What’s new this week? Asparagas at Parker Family Farms, Broccoli at Parker Farms and vineyard, LL Urban farms and 8 p.m. beauty (soaps,lip balms, and body butters)  will be joining the market for the first time.

April 13th at the Market

Opening day was great, it was wonderful to see all our old friends and many new ones.   The weather should be absolutely beautiful!

Our featured entertainment is Ladies of the Lake (Celtic music), we welcome them back for the season as well.  Stay awhile and listen to their melodic sound.

We would like to give a big congratulations to our raffle winners;Cathy Thomas, Paul Wasylkevych, and Cindy Blye.  They each won $15 in market bucks.
