You know that we at the CDFM enjoy allowing you to bring your dogs to the market with you. However, with food safety a bigger and bigger issue and in many discussions on the local food front, we have come to the decision that dogs may not be the best mix in the market.
The Farmers Market is a produce and food-based area, just like a restaurant or grocery store, and as such is subject to many rules governing food safety and public safety.
We ask that customers who do bring their dogs to the market, follow these rules:
Dogs must be kept on a short, non-expandable leash.
Keep your dog under control and by your side at all times.
Keep dogs away from produce, plants and other food products-if this means having a friend hold your dog while you shop, please do so.
Your dog must be sociable to people and other dogs.
Not everyone is a dog lover: Be considerate.
